Mang Den: An Attraction in the Central Highlands

Mang Den, a much-touted eco-tourism site in Kon Tum province is considered the “second Da Lat” in the Central Highlands.

Located nearly 2,000 meters above the sea level, Mang Den is 50km east of Kon Tum city, linking between Kon Tum and Quang Ngai and other central coastal provinces. Surrounded by primeval forests, the place features a mild climate with cool weather all year round. The average annual temperature is 16-20oC. On the way to the land, visitors will have chance to experience more than 10km of the breathtaking Pass of Mang Den winding its way through trees, rocks and clouds, like a water-colour painting when the untamed nature brings the majestic scenery with high passes and mountains, deep gorges, intact forests of pine trees whispering in the breezes, and the fresh air so much inviting to travellers.

It is certain that anyone would admire the vastness of the blue water and mountains of the land. Hidden behind pine trees are villas to wait in front for tourism potential of the area. So far, there have been many tourism and eco-tourism investment projects set up in Mang Den to gradually tap the tourism potential of the land with its majestic waterfalls, pristine and the romantic beautiful lakes, and more.

Besides, the natural conditions and climate in Mang Den are ideal for the cultivation of vegetables, fruits, flowers of cold regions. Fish such as salmon and sturgeon are also raised there together with other rare animals and plants.

Mang Den is really an attractive destination for both domestic and foreign tourists. It is no coincidence that the land has been identified as one of the areas with great tourism potential in Viet Nam. It is also the starting point of the “Green Road of the Central Highlands” when it is connected to “the Central Region’s Heritage Path” and the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail to form a national tourism route.
